Monika Kamal’s journey as a designer has taken her across the globe. However, life played an unfair hand when her older son, Siddharth, lost his life in a tragic road accident soon after her return to India from California, USA.
Monika’s sufferings were unbearable but with unwavering support from family, friends, and her dedicated team, she sought solace in the idea of creating something meaningful to honour her beloved son’s life.
With this in mind, she incepted the ‘Siddharth Kamal Foundation’ - a non-profit organisation inspired by Siddharth's passion for life and his empathetic nature towards the underserved. The foundation aims to uplift the marginalised sections of society by providing them with quality education, healthcare, and sustainable avenues of self-empowerment.
